The project addresses this by approaching nature with curiosity and wonder, opening up alternative ways of understanding and encountering it. Through the process, I seeks a personal relationship with nature that can also invite others to reflect on their own relationship with the forest. As part of one eARTh Creative Labs, I work closely with a tree over an extended period of time, allowing me to encounter its form and the relationship that gradually develops between us. During this process, I gathers traces of&nbsp;our interactions, both in the form of physical material and through internal processes, bodily encounters, and movement. This material forms the basis for an installation in eXtended Reality (XR), where the physical and digital meet. A sculptural installation, built from materials from the site, is combined with an AR experience accessed via mobile phone, allowing visitors to engage with the traces that emerged in the encounter between me and the tree. The work moves within the boundary between physical and extended reality and invites reflection on how we encounter the forest, and how nature can be understood as a living being with intrinsic value rather than merely a resource. In her work, the artist Gabriella Di Feola allows grief to be a living process, something that continues to whisper, transform, and take shape in the material. Her exploration revolves around experiences of losing a child, where temporal, personal, and historical narratives are interwoven in materials such as textiles and immersive technologies. In The Echo of Things a new dimension was tested in the XR work child remains through the collaboration with sound artist Susanne Hansson. We also offered daily drop-in workshops to open up conversations around grief and loss, using letter-writing, drawing and open discussions. They were led by Denise Lengyel, a researcher of arts-based methods and digital death studies, to creating a space for people to reflect and share their views on grief and The Echo of Things.&nbsp; The artist Subani Melin participated in the exhibition with a work from the project Sorgens kropp (The Body of Grief), by Subani Melin, Karin Blixt, and Maja Kristin Nylander. The work explores how the loss of a child or sibling shapes and reshapes the body. Through conversations,&nbsp;they have gathered women’s experiences, which have been embroidered together with their own into a collective piece depicting grief’s impact on the body. Through the encounter between these works and practices, Tingens Eko asks about what never had the chance to grow, and how it still continues to live within us the resonance of grief. <img The project brings forward aspects of the family’s story that are less visible in the established narrative. The family speaks little about the experience of losing three of their children, and few stories about these children have been preserved. In the absence of stories, what is there to tell? This exploration is combined with making room for contemporary experiences of child loss through Di Feola’s experiences of losing a daughter as well as other parents’ experiences of child loss. The immersive installation consists of: - A VR world - Framed portraits of Gabriel Grén, Sofia Eleonora Grén and Emmy Grén-A copy of a sheet from the archive -An archive of experiences around grief in the form of experience cards, a poem and a guest book -A tufted carpet (190cmx210cm) - A live performance element: the interlocutor. Pilate, 2024 Can you mourn that which you have not lived alongside of? And if not, what are you to do when echoes of their lives brush up against you? Traces of past lives surround us, in the gentle giants of the Gothenburg harbor cranes, to the lasting impact of the Grén family's commitment to the green urban spaces of Gothenburg. If it is clear how we might visit them out of curiosity, or to pay our respects, it is less evident how they inhabit us in our daily lives and help us channel our imaginaries, our convictions, our losses. Can you mourn someone you’ve never known?My inquiry takes place in the English park at Lilla Änggården, creatd by the Grén family, where the father is believed to have planted a tree for each child. Of the five children, three died at a young age. These trees have long stood as living markers of their memory. In 2023, one of these trees fell, now known as the Fallen Family Tree. Its fall exposes the fragility of memory and the material traces through which grief endures, revealing how absence continues to shape both the landscape and its histories.This work explores how traces of past lives shape our imaginations and grief. Through 3D scans of meaningful places, collaged images, immersive technology, and a performance where lost children's names are written aloud, the VR piece becomes aquiet act of remembrance. imago is an experimental and artistic exploration of the digital exhibition format. It examines the use of archival materials through spatial experiences, immersion and interaction as a means of creating embodiment. It explores various possibilities with the digital material where it is ability to overlook physical limitations to, for example, visual, audio, narrative and movement. The exhibition mediates content about mental health and digital archival material. But on this page, no pictures from the archive is displayed, it is just a Proof of concept. To get around in the showroom, use the following commands:The W, A, S and D keys or the arrow keys to move forward, backward, right and left.The Q and E keys to move up and down on the different levels in the exhibition.
